STAGGERING STATS

33% OF CRASHES OVER 55 MPH INVOLING A TEEN WILL RESULT IN A FATALITY.

The Iraq war has cost around 2,500 Americans their lives so far -- but that's peanuts compared with the mayhem being attributed to teenage drivers. According to a recent study by the American Automobile Association (AAA) 30,917 fatalities over the past 10 years were the result of crashes involving drivers ages 15-17 years old -- a body count about two-thirds as high as the total number of U.S. soldiers killed during the entire Vietnam War.

TEENS ARE TEXTING!

A survey was conducted in the United States among sixteen to seventeen year old drivers by the Automobile Association of America. Out of the young people surveyed, about 45% admitted to the fact that they text while driving.

PARENTS

In the final analysis, parents must accept responsibility for their kids. The must conclusively teach their kids good driving habits by engaging in these good habits themselves. This means they should not drive while talking on the cell phone or while texting. And they must monitor and watch their kids behaviors to determine the level of trust that can be placed upon their teenage sons and daughters.
